Supernatural Puppet Master. Review: Haven — “The New Girl”

Supernatural Puppet Master. Review: Haven — “The New Girl” 1

Losing no time, “The New Girl” picks up immediately where “Lost and Found” left off — a stand-off with the Guard, and good old Jordan (Kate Kelton) leading the charge against Nathan (Lucas Bryant), Duke (Eric Balfour), Jennifer (Emma Lahana), and the proverbial new girl on the scene, Lexie (Emily Rose).

Leap of Faith. Retrospective: Haven – “Lost and Found”

Leap of Faith. Retrospective: Haven - "Lost and Found" 2

From beginning to end, “Lost and Found” is riveting. You sit on the edge of your seat waiting with bated breath for what is coming next. From creepy children stealing kids from their homes, to mediation with a very muscular Duke (Eric Balfour), and Lexie (Emily Rose) finally realizing all is not what it seems, “Lost and Found” starts and ends with suspense.

Vampires In Haven? No, Just Bloody Troubles. Retrospective: Haven — “Bad Blood”

Vampires In Haven? No, Just Bloody Troubles. Retrospective: Haven — “Bad Blood” 3

Who’s leaving bodies drained of blood around town? Well, as much as I would love for there to be a vampire roaming the streets, sadly, it’s just another “trouble” wreaking havoc on the citizens of Haven. Of course, the sanguineous blob literally sucking the life out of people, is on a mission. It’s after one person in particular … Nathan.

Conf Call Transcript: HAVEN - Emily Rose and Colin Ferguson 4

Emily Rose and Colin Ferguson who play Lexie and William, respectively, on Syfy’s Haven, talk about their characters and provide some insight and maybe a spoiler or two about what’s ahead in season four.

Feel the Burn. Retrospective: Haven — “Survivors”

Feel the Burn. Retrospective: Haven — “Survivors” 5

“Survivors” is a complex and entertaining episode. There’s obviously the macabre with the burn victims, and tension, animosity, and humor…mostly from Duke. I wasn’t sure how I would feel with Audrey being out of the picture for so long with the regular crew in Haven but I quite like the suspense of her discovering who she is without the help of her old friends.

HAVEN — Sneak Peek: “Survivors” and more from the Darkside Seekers 6

“Survivors” – Sneak Peek: William is trying to help Lexie remember who she is. Nathan and Duke’s search for the still-missing Audrey is complicated by a troubled person who appears to be immolating the residents of Haven in broad daylight.

Conference Call: HAVEN’s Eric Balfour – Excited for the Season and Fan Appreciation

Conference Call: HAVEN's Eric Balfour - Excited for the Season and Fan Appreciation 7

Eric Balfour talks about what’s ahead in HAVEN Season 4: I love his answer to a question about his character Duke being either the ‘good or bad’ guy,”…it’s why I love playing the character, because he is completely human and he is fallible.” And a fan question came up asking if he’s wearing socks or not…I’m even more curious to know the back story now! Balfour also speaks animatedly and spiritedly about his new cast members Emma Lahana, Christian Camargo, and Colin Ferguson… what I am DYING to find out more about is, as Balfour put it, “how deep the connection and bond is between Duke and Audrey.” WHAT!

Stormy Troubles and More Gas Leaks. Review: Haven — “Fallout”

Stormy Troubles and More Gas Leaks. Review: Haven — “Fallout” 8

“Fallout” takes us on a wild and stormy journey. So much has changed in the quaint town of Haven, Maine yet, somehow, it seems the same…if that makes sense. As advertised, Haven returns six months after Duke and Audrey go into the barn. However, time passes differently in the barn because what is six months for everyone else feels like only mere minutes for Duke. With a splash, Duke is transported out of the barn into an aquarium in Boston. How or why, no one knows…yet. Now Duke must find his way back to Haven to figure out what happened to Audrey. But Duke won’t be traveling alone.

Conference Call: HAVEN’s Lucas Bryant Talks About Season 4 and More!

Conference Call: HAVEN's Lucas Bryant Talks About Season 4 and More! 9

Conference Call with HAVEN’s Lucas Bryant. I absolutely adore Bryant’s wry humor and sarcasm during this conference call. The way he talks about Eric Balfour’s “great, strong arms” embracing him in a hug in the season premiere episode “Fallout” had me riveted. (Insert giggle). And of course, Bryant would like to take all the credit for the show’s success…he was totally kidding. And I had to ask about the perpetual “gas leaks” that seem to plague Haven, Maine. Bryant says that will be addressed this season.

Retrospective: Haven, S3 Finale - “Thanks for the Memories” (Is Audrey...Human?) 12

As far as season finales go, “Thanks for the Memories” is one of the best I’ve seen in a while. As The Hunter Meteor shower pummels Haven, everyone is frantically searching for an alternate method of stopping the “troubles” to save Audrey from fate repeating itself.

Retrospective: Haven, S3, Ep. 312 - “Reunion” (The Skinwalker is revealed) 13

After waiting a month for the penultimate episode of Haven, I am extremely delighted “Reunion” doesn’t disappoint. What really makes “Reunion” a fantastic episode are the events happening outside of the reunion. And Dave does something quite unexpected and shocking.

Who is the imposter among them? Retrospective: Haven, S3 “Last Goodbyes”

Who is the imposter among them? Retrospective: Haven, S3 "Last Goodbyes" 14

“Last Goodbyes” throws you for a contemplative loop. Of all the hometown suspects, any one of them could be the elusive “Bolt Gun Killer,” a.k.a. “the Skinwalker.” What truly made me sit on the edge of my seat throughout “Last Goodbyes” is the not knowing. Who is the imposter among them?

Pirates, Mind Control, and Skinwalkers? Retrospective: Haven S3, “Burned”

Pirates, Mind Control, and Skinwalkers? Retrospective: Haven S3, "Burned" 15

#Haven gets a little creepier in BURNED. Nathan and Audrey make a startling discovery while Duke tries his hand at being a pirate for his new friend Ginger. And Jordan reveals something she’s been hiding from Nathan regarding Audrey and The Guard.

Not A Blast Going To The Past. Retrospective: Haven, S3 "Sarah" 17

With Duke’s disappearance into the past, the current Haven is changing. “The Haven Herald” newspaper no longer exists. Then when Nathan vanishes, something else changes and Audrey learns that Dave (John Dunsworth) killed his brother Vince (Richard Donat), and now things are getting even screwier.

TV News: Syfy Renews HAVEN For 4th Season with 13 New Episodes 18

#Haven gets 4th season! I love Haven! It’s one of my favorite shows on television. The cast, the location, and the stories are all fantastic. I’m ready to take a trip to Nova Scotia where the show is filmed because I want to be in Haven. Congrats to the cast, crew, and all involved on the show!

Huh? WOW! NO! Retrospective: Haven, S3 “Magic Hour – Part 1”

Huh? WOW! NO! Retrospective: Haven, S3 "Magic Hour - Part 1" 19

#EscapeToHaven? I’m not so sure I want to with an overflow of killers as of late. First it was the bolt-gun killer, now there are blackmailers who are killing people promising to resurrect them for a price. The “troubled” case in “Magic Hour” really proves quite alluring.

The Walls Do Have Ears…and Eyes! Review: #Haven, S3 “Real Estate”

The Walls Do Have Ears...and Eyes! Review: #Haven, S3 "Real Estate" 20

A dark and spooky night; check. A creepy house in the woods on a desolate road; check. An adventurous young couple dressed in costume; check. Mystery is in the air and it’s perfect for a Halloween-themed episode of Haven.

A Vigilante Golum. Review: Haven – “Double Jeopardy”

A Vigilante Golum. Review: Haven - "Double Jeopardy" 21

Are you thinking twice before doing bad deeds or unlawful acts? I would be too. “Lady Justice” is no joke in “Double Jeopardy.” But does the punishment always fit the crime? This week’s episode struggles with that question as some of the local residents succumb to tragic comeuppances via the lady in white.

“It’s a townie thing.” Review: Haven, S3 “Over My Head”

"It’s a townie thing." Review: Haven, S3 "Over My Head" 22

Tattoos, invisible sharks, and hypnotherapy—oh my. You can’t say “Over My Head” isn’t an interesting episode, that’s for sure. The “trouble” this week gets everyone a tad waterlogged. Are you still feeling the creepy crawlies? (Shudders). Those crabby little crawlers freak me out.

Life Sucker and a New Stranger in Town. Review: Haven, S2 “The Farmer”

Life Sucker and a New Stranger in Town. Review: Haven, S2 "The Farmer" 23

What do you do when you think you only have “46 days” left before you vanish? “The Farmer” grabs you and takes you on an emotional and jarring ride. Starting with Duke trying to get through to a stubborn Audrey and then a grizzly crime scene, it appears like things in Haven are getting more chaotic as “The Hunter” approaches. And let’s not forget the new stranger in town. I love how the writers are challenging us to think outside the box with the curious cases of “the troubled” in Haven they are dishing out this season.

It’s a Dog-Eat-Dog World. Review: Haven, S3 “Stay”

It's a Dog-Eat-Dog World. Review: Haven, S3 "Stay" 24

“Stay” presents us with the very strange case of Tor (Adrian G. Griffiths), a single father whose “trouble” seems to turn animals into humans. There is a lot of contention lingering in the air, especially surrounding Duke. And what’s up with the new shrink in town?

Close Encounters of the Troubled Kind. Review: Haven, S3 “301”

Close Encounters of the Troubled Kind. Review: Haven, S3 "301" 25

Close encounters…of the troubled kind is what’s in store for Havenites. An alien abduction, magnetic fields, invisible forces attacking, crop circles, and lights in the sky—is Haven being invaded by space aliens, or is this the work of a “troubled” mind? As Duke (Eric Balfour) points out, “Everything that’s happening now, happened before.”
