Romeo Sent Home - Recap of "Dancing with the Stars-The Results Show," Week 8 1As we all know by now, Romeo was sent home this week. I’m sad to see him go, as I think he brought a lot to the show. I thought Kirstie would be the one leaving, as I predicted in my Recap/Review of last night’s Dancing with the Stars. But I guess the voters didn’t see it my way. For a recap of tonight’s show, please continue reading.

This week, the judges’ favorite dance from last night is Kirstie and Maks’ Argentine Tango, which they performed again for us. Since it was also one of my favorite dances, I doubly enjoyed it.

First up to hear the news are Hines and Kym, as well as Kirstie and Maks. Dancing in the semi-finals next week are Hines and Kym, as well as Kirstie and Maks! I’m so happy as I love them both!

For our entertainment, Dance Center with Jerry Rice, Kenny Mayne and Len Goodman made its annual appearance tonight. The glittery eye makeup on Rice really gave me a chuckle, as does most of their commentary. They gave Kirstie and Romeo quite a send-up, and they’ll be back later in the show to talk about the other stars.

At this point, singing “I’m Not Ready” from his forthcoming album, “Gems – The Duets Collection” was Michael Bolton, along with Australian sensation, Delta Goodrem playing piano. Performing a beautiful dance to the music is Dmitry and Anna.

The last three couples to learn their fate are Ralph and Karina, Romeo and Chelsie, and Chelsea and Mark. All spoke with Brooke about their confidence in the semi-finals should they get there.

In keeping with the spirit of dance changing lives, we next met Karley Tuita and her three sons.  Heja, the oldest son, has been dancing from a young age, while his dad worked three jobs to support his dream of becoming a professional dancer. Unfortunately, Mr. Tuita suffered a major stroke at the age of 39, and passed away from related damages, e.g. swelling of the brain. Heja immediately went on tour, dancing with the likes of Jennifer Lopez, Janet Jackson, Usher, and he’s currently on tour with Chris Brown. Dance helped him make sure there was enough money to keep the roof over his family’s heads and food on the table. The two younger boys decided to follow in their oldest brother’s footsteps and began dancing. Tonight, the three Tuita boys performed an awesome mash-up of Cha Cha and Hip Hop, and  were joined by Abrea DelGrosso, Rosalind Reese and Jenna Johnson.

Delta Goodrem stepped in for songstress Adele, who was having trouble with her upper register, and performed “Natural Woman,” a song she had never done before. For not having much practice time, she certainly did a great job. Accompanying her were Louis van Amstel and Cheryl Burke doing a beautiful, very sensual dance.

Dance Center came back and sent up the final three, Ralph, Chelsea and Hines. Len kept trying to be serious with his commentary about the stars, but Kenny and Jerry were just laughable in their comedic efforts.

Two-time Grammy award-winning singer Adele was up next with her first ever primetime performance, singing “Rolling in the Deep“ from her recently-released CD, “21.” Dancing to her song was the DWTS Dance Team, doing a wonderfully choreographed piece by Travis Wall of So You Think You Can Dance fame. Adele really is a sensational singer. It’s easy to see why she’s the number one recording artist in the world.

The first couple in jeopardy this week is Ralph and Karina, joined by Romeo and Chelsie. Chelsea and Mark were happy to learn they will be dancing in the semi-finals, an announcement that drew quite a lot of applause from the audience.

After the appropriate amount of tension, Tom announced the one remaining spot for the semi-finals was going to Ralph and Karina, meaning Romeo and Chelsie were going home – something I didn’t predict. Romeo was such a gentleman and I was astounded by his confession that he was so scared of dancing, he actually turned down movie roles! What a stand-up guy he turned out to be! Just proves the old adage, you can’t judge a book by its cover.

So dance fans, are you ready for the semi-finals next week? Who do you think will make it to the finals? Tune in to Dancing with the Stars next Monday, 8/7c on ABC to find out.
