As expected, Hamilton leads the pack of nominees for The 70th Annual Tony Awards®, receiving nods in 16 categories. That sets a new record for the most nominated production in Tony Awards history. Hosted by Tony Award winner James Corden, host of The Late Late Show with James Corden, The 70th Annual Tony Awards® will air Sunday, June 12, from 8:00-11:00 PM, ET/delayed PT) only on CBS.

NEW YORK — Tony Award nominations were announced today for THE 70TH ANNUAL TONY AWARDS®, airing live on Sunday, June 12 (8:00-11:00 PM, ET/delayed PT) on the CBS Television Network. Nominations were announced live on CBS THIS MORNING by actress Nikki M. James and actor Andrew Rannells. “Hamilton” leads the nominations this year, with nominations in 16 categories, making it the new record holder for most nominated production in Tony Awards history.

As previously announced, Tony Award winner James Corden, host of THE LATE LATE SHOW with JAMES CORDEN, will host the 2016 Tony Awards for the first time, live from the Beacon Theatre in New York City.

Nominees for THE 70th ANNUAL TONY AWARDS® were selected by an independent committee of 47 theater professionals appointed by the Tony Awards Administration Committee. The 2016 Tony Awards are presented by The Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing. The list of nominations follows.

This year marks the 70th anniversary of the TONY Awards, which were first held on April 6, 1947 at the Waldorf Astoria’s Grand Ballroom. The ceremony is presented by Tony Award Productions, which is a joint venture of the Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing, which founded the Tonys.

Ricky Kirshner and Glenn Weiss of White Cherry Entertainment will return as executive producers. Weiss will also serve as director for the 17th consecutive year.
