NEW YORK (October 16, 2017) – Travel Channel’s hotel expert, Anthony Melchiorri, is heading off the beaten path in search of extraordinary overnight stays on land and sea. In Travel Channel’s new series “Extreme Hotels,” premiering Sunday, November 19 at 10 p.m. ET/PT, Melchiorri explores unique and breathtaking accommodations in bucket-list locales. From snowcapped peaks in the Swiss Alps to the shores of Vietnam, follow along as Melchiorri explores one-of-a-kind hotels in extreme settings.

“After dedicating years to rescuing struggling hotels – my new mission takes me to the most beautiful and extreme locations imaginable in search of the ultimate hotel experience,” said Melchiorri. “And I must admit that I am enjoying these wild accommodations, not to mention the clean sheets!”

In the premiere episode, featuring hotels surrounded by water, Melchiorri starts his exploration at No Man’s Fort in the Solent near Portsmouth, England. While touring the water fortress turned one-of-a-kind hotel, Melchiorri heads down to the basement to try out one of the fort’s most popular activities: a military-themed laser battle. He travels to Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula to experience the eco-friendly Azulik Resort, which is built entirely on stilts allowing the waves to flow freely beneath the oceanfront villas. Next he heads south to Turtle Inn off the coast of Belize, where guests order room service from conch “shell-phones,” and anyone can rent their very own private island called Coral Caye. Melchiorri finishes this unforgettable journey in Vietnam, where he boards the Red Dragon Junk boat, a floating luxury hotel on the waters of Halong Bay.

I provide testosterone to the site. You won’t be reading about how nice a actress looks in a dress or how much of a hunk Matt Bomer is in my reviews. I describe colors using words like brown, not taupe. My twitter name is @staffaroadtrip because I love road trips and have done two different 48-state road trips since 2008. My favorite show is White Collar.
