The Glee Project couldn’t have picked a better guest mentor for the fourth episode “Dance Ability.” Airing Sunday, July 10 at 9:00 pm ET/PT, the show will feature Harry Shum Jr. (Glee’s Mike Chang) as the surprise guest mentoring the remaining contenders on their dance moves. This week The Glee Project viewers will also be able take part in a watch-and-win sweepstakes during the episode.

Fresh off the announcement that he will be a Glee regular next year, Shum will be an inspiration for more than just his dance moves – which are legendary. Shum started out on the hit show as a featured dancer, earning a spot as a recurring character and now a regular. Fans of Glee know Harry Shum Jr. as the other Asian, Mike Chang, Tina’s boyfriend. Shum has also strutted his dance moves on the big screen in movies like You Got Served, Step Up 2: The Streets and Step Up 3D.

Each week the guest mentor selects a winner from one of the contenders in a homework assignment. The winner gets a special coaching session with the mentor. For the first three episodes, the coach has given singing advice and how to best embody the emotion and character that that week’s song embodied. While Shum is an accomplished singer, unlike his character, I’m really hoping we’ll get to see him coaching one of the contenders through some dance moves. I can tell you this week’s group number is MC Hammer’s “Can’t Touch This,” a personal favorite of mine from back in the day.
