News: Check out SNL's All-Star Starting Lineup for the New Year 1Beginning January 7, Saturday Night Live brings us an impressive line-up of guest and musical stars for the new year starting with Charles Barkley and Kelly Clarkson and their return to studio 8H.

Barkley returns for his third hosting appearance. He is best known for his 16 seasons in the NBA, including being an 11-time NBA All Star, an NBA Most Valuable Player, a two-time Olympic gold medal winner with Team USA Basketball, one of the NBA’s 50 Greatest Players in History, and a member of the Basketball Hall of Fame. With the start of the much-anticipated basketball season, Barkley will begin his 12th year as a studio analyst for TNT’s Emmy Award-winning show, Inside the NBA, and his second year in studio for the NCAA’s March Madness college basketball tournament coverage on CBS and TNT. Barkley is also a published author, having written four books, including “Who’s Afraid of a Large Black Man: Speaking My Mind on Race, Celebrity, Sports and American Life;” “I May Be Wrong But I Doubt It: Some Things I’ve Learned So Far;” The Definitive Word on Michael Jordan;” and “Outrageous!”

Clarkson, returning for her third gig as a musical guest, recently released her fifth studio album, “Stronger,” which includes the Billboard chart-topper “Mr. Know It All.” Since bursting onto the music scene ten years ago, Clarkson has released five studio albums, sold over 20 million albums worldwide, 10 million albums in the US and has had seven singles in the top ten on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart.
