NBC Cancels REVOLUTION After Two Seasons

Revolution key art (horizontal)Your Entertainment Corner learned today, via a source at NBC Universal, that Revolution is indeed cancelled and will not be returning for a third season. I’ve been a fan of the show since the beginning and had high hopes for the series when I interviewed Eric Kripke at San Diego Comic-Con. I adore Kripke. He’s a very passionate show runner and executive producer. Hello, he created Supernatural! I feel terrible about Revolution getting the axe. While I had some qualms about how ‘clean’ these so-called post apocalyptic survivors were, for the most part, the show was gaining steady traction in the story lines. In my recap of the season two premiere, “Born in the USA,” I mentioned how anxious I was for the season to get under way, however, as the season progressed, some of the plot points felt a bit contrived. In the premiere, Aaron (Zak Orth) was killed but was miraculously brought back to life by the nano tech. Interesting and that made me curious as to how the writers would continue. As we see now, the nano tech are bunch of little…you know what. They’ve taken over Priscilla’s (Maureen Sebastian) body and mind and have done some very strange things. Then of course we have the Patriots who are absolutely horrible. The new government run by the former President Jack Davis (Cotter Smith) is absolutely deplorable. While the whole aspect of the patriots versus the rebels had some element of action/drama, it’s the personal stories and nano tech that made me tune in each week. These little bots are wreaking havoc every where and with the show being cancelled, I wonder if the writers are able to wrap up any story lines by the season finale. Will the nano tech be destroyed thus turning the power back on? With only two episodes before the finale, will the show runners re-shoot the finale to suit the confirmed cancellation?

Tune in to Revolution for the final remaining episodes Wednesdays at 8/7c only on NBC.

Judy Manning

Dream chaser extraordinaire! Judy tends to be a tad sarcastic and kind of goofy! She is an avid admirer of all things supernatural, paranormal, celestial and mystical. She loves to read, write, and watches way too much TV. She enjoys many genres of film and music (and let's be honest, most music from the 80s). She also has a wicked sweet tooth. Cupcakes beware.
