Round table interviews with The Last Ship

If you haven’t watched an episode of TNT’s hit series The Last Ship, you should binge watch now to catch up before season three. At least watch season two because things got a bit hairy at the end and season three will take a small time jump from where the season two finale left off.

In the series premiere, “Phase Six,” the U.S.S. Nathan James and its crew set out on a mission but unbeknownst to the crew, a deadly viral outbreak has ravaged most of the world’s population. On board is CDC biologist Dr. Rachel Scott (Rhona Mitra) who discovers a primordial strain of the virus in the Arctic. With all the elements required, she manufactures a cure by the end of season one.

In season two, the U.S.S. Nathan James and her crew set out to return to the United States to find family, friends, loved ones, and any survivors they can to administer the cure. But things on the home-front are far from safe. At the end of season two, one of our heroes is gunned down and her fate is unknown as we head into season three.

Meeting Bridget was amazing! An yees, I am wearing Ewok ears.

Throughout the interviews with some of the cast and executive producers, it is revealed that there is a bit of time leap and new characters are introduced. Co-creator and EP Hank Steinberg reveals quite a lot about the season three plot points which only whet your appetite to learn more about what will happen this season.

I have to say, meeting Bridget Regan was a true highlight for me. I was a huge fan of her now canceled series Legend of the Seeker (LoS) so meeting “The Confessor” was sort of surreal. Only other LoS fans will understand. Of course, I loved Regan’s turn as the villainous Dottie Underwood in ABC’s Agent Carter (which coincidentally also got canceled). I’m excited to see her in The Last Ship as a new character named Sasha Cooper who has a connection with Commander Tom Chandler (Eric Dane).

Travis Van Winkle is Awesome! That is all.

The interviews are all informative but I have to say, Travis Van Winkle and Marissa Neitling’s interviews were quite entertaining. I love Van Winkle’s energy! Ok…and he’s easy on the eyes. Does anyone else remember him from Transformers (2007) as the muscle-bound jock Trent or The CW’s Hart of Dixie as Jonah Breeland? He’s come a long way, hasn’t he? And it seems like Neitling’s character Lt. Kara Foster can add “mommy” to her new duties in this season of The Last Ship. We’ll have to see how Kara and Danny (Van Winkle) will fare with parenthood amid the new dangers presented this season.

Without further ado, the video interviews.

Judy Manning

Dream chaser extraordinaire! Judy tends to be a tad sarcastic and kind of goofy! She is an avid admirer of all things supernatural, paranormal, celestial and mystical. She loves to read, write, and watches way too much TV. She enjoys many genres of film and music (and let's be honest, most music from the 80s). She also has a wicked sweet tooth. Cupcakes beware.
