Having been an avid fan of both Golden Globe® winner Richard Gere and Golden Globe® nominee Ben Vereen, I was thrilled to learn they are starring in a movie together, along with Jena Malone, also a Golden Globe® nominee. Time Out of Mind, written and directed by Oscar® nominated writer Oren Moverman, best known for the award-winning film, The Messenger, will be released theatrically September 9, 2015.
Time Out of Mind revolves around George, a man without a home who found himself evicted from his squat and suddenly alone on the streets. Struggling with his demons and desperately trying to connect with the daughter he abandoned, he navigates the system, hustling for change and somewhere safe and quiet to gather his thoughts. But the streets are relentless and soon, George finds himself teetering on the edge, alone and abandoned. Time Out of Mind is Oren Moverman’s powerful portrait of a man on the margins of society, a visually stunning film that brings the experience of homelessness into sharp, deeply empathetic focus.
