Dennis, Dee and Charlie face the owners of the home they broke into

In Indiana Jones fashion, Dee (Kaitlin Olson) and Dennis (Glenn Howerton) – the “extraction team” break into a house to steal a vase they think may possibly be cursed. While they’re hiding in the bedroom closet and Frank (Danny DeVito) is under the bed, Charlie (Charlie Day) and Mac (Rob McElhenny) wait outside in a white truck. I’m not exactly sure why they want to steal the vase, nor do I know anything about the people from whom they’re stealing it, but it makes for a wildly funny episode. As the title indicates, the Gang gets trapped when the lady of the house comes home and they have to keep from getting caught.

Highlights and Observations:

Frank is positive the vase is inside the bear

The many references to the Indiana Jones movies, which ones Charlie and Mac like best, and the Indy-style hat Mac sports are pretty funny. And you know what? Mac looks pretty damn good in that hat.

When Dennis turns off his walkie-talkie because he can’t listen to Mac and Charlie arguing in the van, I was sure something bad would happen. But when Dennis turns it back on, he hears the guys talking about getting out of there and going to Arizona to open up the leather shop they’ve always dreamed about. Way to have your buddies’ backs, guys!

Frank ripping open a teddy bear, thinking the vase—which they all call an “artifact”—is inside is absolutely hysterical! The look on his face and the ferocity with which he tears the poor bear apart, coupled with the bear repeatedly chanting, “I’m Albert, I love you,” has me totally laughing out loud.

It’s unbelievable the guys don’t get caught. Between all the whispering going on, Dee peeing and flushing the toilet so she doesn’t “spray any DNA,” and the bear talking, they’re making enough noise to wake the dead!

Frank hides among all of the little girl's bears to avoid being seen

It’s laughable so many people can get into the house, yet “the extraction team” can’t get out. And not only does Charlie sneak in, the little girl who lives there comes home too. But Mac can’t give them a heads-up because hes not there. He  went to get more burgers from a fast-food joint!

Another laugh-out-loud moment is Mac’s Swedish accent. He plans to use it in order to create a diversion so the rest of the Gang can sneak out. It’s actually spot on, but he just sounds so ridiculous!

Funny lines:

Frank to Dee while hiding in the closet: “Deandra, your breath is dog shit.”

***

Frank to Dee after she bumps into a small desk when they try to sneak out: “Dee, you gangly uncoordinated bitch. I am not getting hog tied over your lack of grace.”

Dee: “I hope they hog tie you and then I hope they rape you in their basement for ten years.

***

Mac: “Shit! Extraction team! There is an SUV pulling up in front of the house. There is a man getting out.”

Charlie: “I cannot see the driver’s face but the subject appears to have pointed feet of some kind. OK, repeating here – so careful now!”

Dennis: “What does that mean!?”

Mac: “He’s wearing cowboy boots.”

***

Frank, upon learning the little girl is heading his way: “I’m gonna whip the little bitch in the face if she makes a peep!”

While Sunny often offers up commentary on past and present events, like they did in last week’s “The ANTI-Social Network,” this week there is none. “The Gang Gets Trapped” is just pure, clean, belly-laughing fun, filled with outstandingly witty dialogue. It doesn’t get any better than this, people. Each week, I think Sunny can’t possibly get any funnier, and then it does. I’m happy to say I laughed throughout the entire show. And I’m pretty sure you will too.
