The Walking Dead Season Finale – “The First Day of the Rest of Your Life” Review. It’s Showtime!

The Walking Dead Season Finale – “The First Day of the Rest of Your Life” Review. It’s Showtime! 1

As a season finale, I’m disappointed. Granted, there is no cliffhanger to keep you wondering what will happen next, and that could be where my issue lies. Or it remains with the blatant and unnecessary death of yet another beloved character.

The Walking Dead – “Something They Need” Review. Full of Guns and Surprises and Guns.

The Walking Dead – “Something They Need” Review. Full of Guns and Surprises and Guns. 2

I’m excited to see things have gone better than I thought they would. Negan is still breathing but we know that is only a matter of time.

The Walking Dead – “The Other Side” Review. Girl Power!

The Walking Dead – “The Other Side” Review. Girl Power! 3

“The Other Side” isn’t explosive or compelling but it is honest. There is no hidden meaning here. We see clearly what the writers want us to know―someone is going to die.

The Walking Dead ― “Bury Me Here” Review. The End Is Near. 4

The Walking Dead doesn’t tug too hard on the heart strings with this outing but it comes close to bringing me to tears.

The Walking Dead ― “Say Yes” Review. The Honeymoon is Not Over. 6

The chemistry between Gurira and Lincoln is off the charts. I can’t get enough of the two of them together.

Taboo – “Episode 8” Review. Where (Almost) Everyone Dies.

Taboo – “Episode 8” Review. Where (Almost) Everyone Dies. 7

“Episode 8” is the most exciting, action-packed, and semi-satisfying episode to date. It has everything a viewer could want in a season finale, except answers to the mysteries riddling every scene.

The Walking Dead ― “Hostiles and Calamities” Review. Dr. Smarty-pants Makes A Name For Himself.

The Walking Dead ― “Hostiles and Calamities” Review. Dr. Smarty-pants Makes A Name For Himself. 8

“Hostiles and Calamities” is a bit of a flashback but it fills in some blanks. I’m curious to see how Eugene either fits into the Saviors’ compound or helps to tear it down from the inside.

The Walking Dead ― “New Best Friends” Review. It’s the Return of the Garbage Pail Kids.

The Walking Dead ― “New Best Friends” Review. It’s the Return of the Garbage Pail Kids. 9

I love the plot behind “New Best Friends” but the green screen effects need work. Rick goes to the “up, up, up” and it looks fake, fake, fake. Not something I expect with the caliber of costume, design, and sets The Walking Dead usually presents.

Taboo ― “Episode 6” Review. Devil in a Black Dress.

Taboo ― “Episode 6” Review. Devil in a Black Dress. 10

Overall, “Episode 6” is fulfilling. I’m more intrigued now by the deaths that have occurred, and the declaration of war on James. Will he prevail or will the East India Trading Co. get what they are after?

The Walking Dead ― “Rock in the Road” Review. The King and I.

The Walking Dead ― “Rock in the Road” Review. The King and I. 11

“Rock in the Road” is an interesting mid-season premiere. I might have wanted a bit more action with the Saviors but I know it’s coming in due time.

Taboo― “Episode 4” Review. Sweet Dreams are Made of This. 13

This fourth episode of Taboo ends with a request for a duel. How cruel the writers are to leave us hanging like so? I don’t think I can wait until next week to experience the rage that James will unleash on his opponent.

Taboo ― “Shovels and Keys” Review. Tom Hardy, F-Bombs, and That Hat. 15

I don’t mind this venture into 1800s London. With the backstabbing, creeptastic characters, and sultry setting, Taboo might become my new favorite series.

The Walking Dead ― “Hearts Still Beating” Review. Welcome Back, Survivors. 18

I am excited to say “Hearts Still Beating” is a good, solid episode. It brought about some tears, some cheers, and some hell yeahs. This extended episode left me wanting more.

“Sing Me A Song” moves the story along enough to keep me interested in what will happen next week but my fervor is fading. I miss the zombie in this zombie apocalypse.

The Walking Dead - “Swear” Review. Where Have all the Cowboys Gone? 20

The Walking Dead - “Service” Review. Negan Has ‘Em By the Short and Curlies. 21

The Walking Dead - “The Cell” Review. Life is Sweet on Easy Street. 23

I enjoyed “The Cell” for a couple of reasons. The episode isn’t full of death and gore. It is interesting in various aspects because of the sneak peek into Negan’s operations, and the reveal of what’s happening with Daryl.

The Walking Dead - “The Well” Review. Inside the Kingdom. 25

The Walking Dead is veering down a windy lane on its trip to Neganville. I’m curious to see how things progress now that we’ve met a new leader, his people, and exposed their connection to the big bad in the area.
