Snowpiercer (movie) 2013 starring Chris Evans

If you’ve not seen the film Snowpiercer, it’s quite an interesting concept about a post apocalyptic world. Caste systems come back into play all while aboard a perpetually moving train circling the planet. Be warned, [in the film] there is plenty of bloodshed, gore, and hideously gross…(yuck) you have to watch to see what I’m talking about. Let’s just say I’m still a bit put off by protein bars. It will be interesting to see how the adaptation to series will fare. The cast is amazing and I’m looking forward to watching.

TNT Greenlights Post-Apocalyptic Sci-Fi Series Snowpiercer

Oscar® winner Jennifer Connelly and Tony Award® winner Daveed Diggs star in the series co-produced by Tomorrow Studios, Turner’s Studio T, along with CJ Entertainment

Turner’s TNT has given a series greenlight to Snowpiercer, a futuristic thriller based on the acclaimed movie of the same name. The series stars Oscar® winner Jennifer Connelly (A Beautiful Mind), Tony Award® and Grammy® Award winner Daveed Diggs (Hamilton, Black-ish), Mickey Sumner (American Made), Susan Park (Ghostbusters), Benjamin Haigh (The Conjuring 2), Sasha Frolova (The Interestings), Katie McGuinness (Dirty Filthy Love), Alison Wright (The Accountant), Annalise Basso (Bedtime Stories), Sam Otto (Jellyfish), Roberto Urbina (Narcos), Sheila Vand (Argo) and Tony Award® winner and Grammy® nominee Lena Hall (All My Children).

“I’m a personal fan of Bong Joon Ho’s epic film, and jumped at the chance to honor his original vision, yet expand upon the world and characters with a diverse, award-winning cast,” said Sarah Aubrey, executive vice president of original programming for TNT. “Science fiction is the perfect genre to examine issues of race, class, gender and natural resources with thought-provoking and exciting storytelling.  Snowpiercer will explore those relevant issues while embarking on a wild, action-filled ride.”

Marty Adelstein, CEO of Tomorrow Studios, added, “Given the exceptional global appeal of the original film, we have a tremendous obligation to ensure the TV adaptation is exceptional in scope and magnitude. We have found that with TNT and with our talented cast. Now we are excited to work together in creating a world unlike any other on television.”

Set seven years after the world has become a frozen wasteland, Snowpiercer centers on the remnants of humanity, who inhabit a gigantic, perpetually-moving train that circles the globe. Class warfare, social injustice and the politics of survival are questioned in this riveting television adaptation.

Snowpiercer is a co-production of Tomorrow Studios and Turner’s Studio T, along with CJ Entertainment. The pilot was directed by Scott Derrickson and was written by Josh Friedman (Avatar 4, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles). The series is executive produced by Tomorrow Studios’ Marty Adelstein (Aquarius, Prison Break, Teen Wolf) and Becky Clements (Good Behavior, Aquarius, Last Man Standing); and the original film’s Bong Joon Ho, Park Chan-wook, Lee Tae-hun and Dooho Choi.

TNT Orders SNOWPIERCER Pilot From Tomorrow Studios

Adaptation of SNOWPIERCER to be Executive-Produced by
Writer/Showrunner Josh Friedman; Bong Joon Ho of the Original Film;
and Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements of Tomorrow Studios

TNT, a division of Turner, has ordered a pilot for Snowpiercer, a futuristic thriller based on the award-winning film by Bong Joon Ho. A co-production of Tomorrow Studios and Turner’s Studio T, the hour-long drama pilot is being executive-produced by writer-showrunner Josh Friedman (Avatar 4, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles) and Tomorrow Studios’ Marty Adelstein (Aquarius, Prison Break, Teen Wolf) and Becky Clements (Good Behavior, Aquarius, Last Man Standing), and the original film’s Bong Joon Ho, Park Chan-wook, Lee Tae-hun and DoohoChoi, along with CJ Entertainment.

Snowpiercer is set seven years after the world has become a frozen wasteland, and the remnants of humanity inhabit a gigantic, perpetually moving train that circles the globe. Class warfare, social injustice and the politics of survival are questioned in this riveting television adaptation.

“Snowpiercer has one of the most original concepts to hit the screen in the last decade, and it’s one that offers numerous opportunities for deeper exploration in a series format,” said Sarah Aubrey, executive vice president of original programming for TNT. “We look forward to expanding TNT’s relationship with Tomorrow Studios and their take on a world where humanity is pushed to the extreme.”

“TNT has become a great producing partner to Tomorrow Studios and we are excited to continue our relationship with them on Snowpiercer, for which we not only have a pilot but are writing multiple scripts,” added Adelstein, CEO of Tomorrow Studios. “This is an incredibly powerful story and one for which finding the perfect home was imperative to its success.”

Snowpiercer marks TNT’s third project with Tomorrow Studios’ Adelstein and Clements. TNT recently premiered the seductive drama Good Behavior, starring Downton Abbey‘s Michelle Dockery in a no-holds-barred performance as a complicated woman trying to regain her life. Last month, TNT ordered a pilot for the vampire thriller Let the Right One In, based on the best-selling novel by Swedish author John Ajvide, which is also a co-production from Turner’s Studio T and Tomorrow Studios.

Dream chaser extraordinaire! Judy tends to be a tad sarcastic and kind of goofy! She is an avid admirer of all things supernatural, paranormal, celestial and mystical. She loves to read, write, and watches way too much TV. She enjoys many genres of film and music (and let's be honest, most music from the 80s). She also has a wicked sweet tooth. Cupcakes beware.
