DISCOVERY ANNOUNCES PREMIERE DATE FOR ‘HARLEY AND THE DAVIDSONS’; SIGNS THREE NEW CAST MEMBERS

(Los Angeles, Calif.) – Discovery Channel announced today that the first part of its highly-anticipated miniseries HARLEY AND THE DAVIDSONS will premiere on Monday, September 5. Consisting of three two-hour installments, parts two and three will air on Tuesday, September 6, and Wednesday, September 7. Discovery also announced three additional cast members.

Actor Gabe Luna has been cast in the role of Eddie Hasha, nicknamed the “Texas Cyclone,” a notable American motorcycle racer. Luna has starred as the title role of El Rey Network’s “Matador.” He has also starred in ABC’s “Wicked City,” and was a recurring character in HBO’s “True Detective.” Luna has appeared in multiple films, including Richard Linklater’s “Bernie” and starred in “Transpecos,” which premiered at the 2016 SXSW Film Festival.

Alex Shaffer has been cast as Shrimp Burns, one of the top dirt and board track motorcycle racers in the early 20th century. Shaffer has played a wide range of film roles with his feature film debut opposite Paul Giamatti in “Win Win,” which premiered at both Sundance and SXSW Film Festivals. He has also starred in “The Lifeguard” opposite Kristen Bell and was in the 2015 film “We Are Your Friends” featuring Zac Efron.

Playing the role of Walt, Jr. is Sean Scully who has appeared in several TV and film projects.

These actors join a cast that includes Michiel Huisman (“Game of Thrones”), Robert Aramayo (“Game of Thrones”), Bug Hall (“The Little Rascals”) and Stephen Rider (“Daredevil”), Jessica Camacho (“Sleepy Hollow”), Daniel Coonan (“EastEnders”), Annie Read (“Awkward”) and Essa O’Shea.

From Raw Television, production of HARLEY AND THE DAVIDSONS began this month. The miniseries will tell the story of the birth of the iconic Harley-Davidson brand that launched in 1903 by two friends from Milwaukee, William Harley and Arthur Davidson.

(Los Angeles, Calif.) – Discovery Channel announced today that it has cast several more key roles in its upcoming miniseries HARLEY AND THE DAVIDSONS.

Daniel Coonan has been cast in the role of William “Big Bill” Davidson, brother to Arthur and Walter Davidson. Coonan brings a wide range of acting experience in both film and television appearing in NBC’s “Law & Order,” BBC’s “EastEnders” and “Silent Witness.” He also has an extensive background in theater with stage experience in the National Theatre in London and the West End.

Annie Read has been cast as Caroline Jacthuber, who eventually becomes Bill Harley’s wife. Read’s most recent TV appearances include MTV’s “Awkward” and Lifetime’s “The Haunted Life.”  She also has appeared in several independent films.

Discovery also has named Essa O’Shea to play the role of Clara Davidson, the wife of Arthur Davidson. O’Shea moved to New York City in 2012 to study acting and screenwriting at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts and currently lives in Los Angeles.

The actors will join a cast that currently includes Michiel Huisman (“Game of Thrones”), Robert Aramayo (“Game of Thrones”), Bug Hall (“The Little Rascals”) and Stephen Rider (“Daredevil”) and Jessica Camacho (“Sleepy Hollow”).

(March 7, 2016 – Los Angeles, Calif.) – Jessica Camacho, who currently co-stars in Fox’s hit series “Sleepy Hollow,” has been cast in the Discovery miniseries HARLEY AND THE DAVIDSONS to air later this year.

Camacho will portray Reya, a strong and fearless member of an early Harley-Davidson motorcycle club. She joins a cast that currently includes Michiel Huisman (“Game of Thrones”), Robert Aramayo (“Game of Thrones”), Bug Hall (“The Little Rascals”) and Stephen Rider (“Daredevil”).

Camacho has appeared in ABC’s “Last Resort” and “Castle,” HBO’s “Hello Ladies,” FOX’s “Bones” and “Minority Report,” CBS’s “NCIS: Los Angeles” and “Stalker,” CW’s “Nikita,” NBC’s “Law & Order: SVU” and played opposite Patrick Swayze in A&E’s “The Beast.”

She also has been in such feature films as “The Babymoon,” “Crave” and “Ana Maria in Novela Land.”

SERIES TO PREMIERE IN 2016

 

(January 7, 2016) – Michiel Huisman (Game of Thrones, Wild, Age of Adaline), Robert Aramayo (Game of Thrones, Nocturnal Animals) and Bug Hall (Revolution) have been cast in leading roles in HARLEY AND THE DAVIDSONS, Discovery’s upcoming scripted drama series premiering later this year.

Based on a true story, HARLEY AND THE DAVIDSONS will tell the story of how Milwaukee schoolyard pals William (Bill) Harley and Arthur Davidson built – and rode – the machines that rule the road. Beginning at the turn of the 20th century, at the shores of Lake Michigan, the series charts the birth of Harley-Davidson during a time of great social and technological change and tells the epic story of how two 19-year-old kids from Milwaukee started a company in their backyard that would go on to become an American legend.

Michiel Huisman will star as “Walter Davidson” in HARLEY AND THE DAVIDSONS. Huisman portrays “Daario Naharis” in hit fantasy drama series Game of Thrones. He will reprise his role as a mercenary leader and love interest of Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) in the upcoming sixth season. Additionally, Huisman’s recent feature credits include turn-of-the-century romantic drama The Age of Adaline, starring Blake Lively, as well as biopic drama Wild opposite Reese Witherspoon. Huisman’s television credits include recurring roles on sci-fi series Orphan Black, musical drama series Nashville as well as Treme. He will next appear in the feature films Mountains and Stones alongside Josh Hartnett and romantic thriller 2:22.

British actor Robert Aramayo will play “William (Bill) Harley” in the series. In addition to joining the cast of Game of Thrones in the upcoming sixth season, Aramayo will appear in Tom Ford’s upcoming feature Nocturnal Animals, starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Amy Adams.

Bug Hall will portray “Arthur Davidson” in HARLEY AND THE DAVIDSONS. Hall played a recurring role in post-apocalyptic drama series Revolution and guest-starred in several series including Castle, CSI, Criminal Minds, Masters of Sex, among others.

 

HARLEY AND THE DAVIDSONS is produced for Discovery Channel by Raw Television.
